Teacher Self-Care 101

As teachers are so willing to dedicate their time to others, it can require a miracle for them to find time for themselves. Considering how consuming the occupation can be, it’s not necessarily a surprise to understand just how easily teachers can lose sight of their health and overlook signs that indicate it’s on the decline. While being able to identify and spot these signs is important, so too is forming habits to cure these moments of melancholy. Many teachers find success in going on a walk before and after work, claiming it helps with letting go of the physical aspects of carrying stress. Similarly, for the sake of mental stress, teachers may use meditation as a strategy to help in preparing for work. While these two strategies are likely to have a positive impact on the day-to-day, there’s so many more strategies that teachers can utilize to ensure that both themselves and their students are receiving the best possible care. For more information on the ways in which self-care is keeping teachers in balance throughout the school year, please see the resource shared alongside this post.
